"I am a gay American."
American? Are you serious? Was that ever in question? And why do other people keep using his wording, actually referring to him as a gay American. I'm sure it's hard to say at the beginning, especially in a freaking press conference, but COME ON. As Amanda points out, who's ever said, "Mom, Dad...I'm a gay American." No, really, who?
